La Historia

Born in Mexico. Raised in Chicago.

I have always lived between cultures, languages, and the way of seeing the world.

In 2020, I had the opportunity to return to Mexico after many years, and that experience changed my life. I realized the Mexico I had been told about was not the Mexico I experienced. I discovered a Mexico full of art, craftsmanship, traditions, and stories.

I met artisans whose work carried generations of knowledge. I saw the passion behind every piece and the meaning behind every creation. After coming home, I knew I wanted to create something that could serve as a bridge between both worlds.

After witnessing how deeply artisans were affected by the pandemic, I wanted to create a platform that could introduce their work to new audiences, beginning here in Chicago. I officially registered Artesanías La Luna in July 2022.

Those first six months were fueled almost entirely by intuition. I didn't know anything about running a business. I just knew I wanted to curate beautiful collections that carried stories and celebrated our culture. It became a way to reconnect with my roots. Because our work has always been shaped by identity, lived experiences, and stories that do not always fit into one place.

Chicago shaped me. It gave me community, experiences, and the perspective that continues to influence everything I create. But Mexico has always been a part of me.

And maybe that is exactly why Artesanías La Luna became what it is today.
